How much do these cost?

A weekend rental is $350 for any character. That price includes roundtrip shipping. Buying a WalkAround® mascot is like commissioning a piece of art or a custom hot rod, the price will depend on what you want us to build. Give us a call and we will give you a ballpark figure right away. We have a number of customers who have bought WalkArounds, treat them well, and enjoy an annualized cost of less than the price of a weekend rental.

How do these work?

Air. A small blower and battery worn on the hip keeps a WalkAround inflated by pulling in constantly-circulating fresh outside air. It is somewhat like being in an inflated tent.

How do you ship these around?

WalkArounds and all their equipment fit into a medium-sized red box. This box will fit in most car trunks, can be checked as airline luggage, and will ship coast-to-coast via UPS for under $60 (uninsured).

Doesn't the person in there suffocate?

No. The PowerBelt brings in over 100 cubic feet of fresh outside air per minute. This is enough fresh air for roughly 1,000 people, though we (usually) recommend WalkArounds be worn by just one at a time.

Why shouldn't I get one of those fuzzy costumes?

Please don't. The reasons not to go fuzzy are numerous and frightening, including: medical liabilities, logistical nightmares, ludicrous maintenance costs, boredom, and general poor taste.

What happens if they pop?

WalkArounds don't pop, ever. They just don't.

Are these made in China, or India?

Neither. We are a real company in the United States that makes the products it sells. We love India and China, their people, history, food, and some movies (sorry Baliwood)... but they're just not good at making WalkArounds. It's OK, no one else is either. WalkAround mascots are designed and sewn in Omaha, Nebraska - the only place in the world to buy a respectable air-inflated costume.

You want to buy stuff made by people in Omaha. We're hard working and honest. We're not really into fauxhawks or frappuccinos so much as work boots and deadlines. We do value real creativity, Omaha has a burgeoning art scene and some of the country's best Indie music. Perhaps most importantly, Omahans are efficient and practical. Omaha is the home of Warren Buffett and the headquarters of companies like Union Pacific, Peter Kiewit, Berkshire Hathaway, and Signs & Shapes International.
